Vegan Black Bean Burgers

 

This is one of my go to recipes.  Black bean burgers costs almost nothing to make,  they are kid friendly and taste so good.  Plus this recipe makes a bunch, so it usually is enough for 2 meals.

You can top these black bean burgers with any toppings that you like.  Our favorite is guacamole and salsa, but it is just as yummy with ketchup or vegan cheese.

The burgers can be made ahead and either refrigerated for a few days or frozen.  I cooked these on a griddle, but they are great on the grill as well.

  1. The burgers look terrific and sound very tasty! Any thoughts on substituting another flour for the chick pea (there’s a chick pea allergy in the house). I suspect just about any other flour would work but am interested in whether you’ve tried any others. Love the photos of each recipe daily!

    1. Thanks! I haven’t tried other flours. You could always just add more oats to the mix or bread crumbs. Dredging the burgers in the flour just gives them a nice texture on the outside, but is not really necessary. You can use finely ground bread crumbs for dredging too. Let me know what you try and how it turns out.
